Cultivating California Marijuana

Growing California marijuana is now a legal thing; with all the support and protests in favour of weed, it was bound to happen anyway. Take note, just because it’s legal doesn’t mean that no laws govern it. Before you get any ideas of planting, growing, cultivating and harvesting weed in your home please be aware of the laws below.

Age Requirement is 21 and Over

Weed is now treated like alcohol, which means no underage growing or consumption. Of course you’ll come across teenagers that grow them for science projects and whatnot, in the eyes of the law it remains as an activity for adults.

Maximum possession is 6 Plants

The made this particular law crystal clear; regardless of the stage the plant is in the entire growing process, the limit is still 6 plants. Although other states allow their residents to possess a few more non flowering plants, the same cannot be said for California. A good reason behind this law is to prevent a huge negative impact on the state’s water supply.

Limit to Personal Growing

Sure growing weed has been officially legalized in California but it should remain a personal activity within the confines of your home. Which basically means that you can only grow weed in your home or property you own, not some else’s. Growing weed in an area that can be seen by any passerby is illegal.

You Can Only Have 28.5

Residents are only allowed an ounce or 28.5 grams of weed at any given time. Of course this does not include any of the weed that you personally grew, you’re entitled to the full amount of your harvest. We highly recommend buying a scale, especially if you’re going to bring some with you when you leave home; to stay legal, only bring 28.5 grams of weed.
